Join our team as the Development Director!. Your role is crucial in creating insightful fundraising strategies that will strengthen our financial foundation. Under the guidance of our Managing Director of Development, you'll be part of a team consisting of seasoned development professionals. Your vital role is to help secure the support that will fuel our organization's growth and amplify its impact. Do you have experience with:

  • Identifying, cultivating and soliciting prospective funders?

  • Handling a diverse portfolio made up of mostly foundation funders?

  • Leading the preparation of high-quality concept notes, letters of inquiry, and grant proposals and narrative reports for a variety of funders and prospective funders?

  • Increasing donor retention, growing overall revenue, and moving qualified donors up the pipeline?

Do you enjoy:

  • Working in an environment where you are collaborating with your entire team to meet shared revenue goals?

  • Working with cross-departmental colleagues to compile impact reports for funders and report on grant deliverables?

  • Being on a hard working and supportive team?

If you've answered affirmatively to these questions and meet the following prerequisites, we urge you to seize this opportunity. This role calls for the following:

  • Have 7 years of related fundraising experience; previous experience with foundation giving preferred

  • Previous experience securing gifts up to $500,000

  • Show a working knowledge of the principles and practices of grant writing, researching, administering and monitoring;

  • Have experience with grant writing resources, funding information, and online/electronic grant submission systems;

  • Demonstrate previous work with nonprofits required; previous work with educational nonprofits preferred

Benefits

  • Compensation:

    • The compensation range for this position is between $89,811, with a midpoint of $116,755, and a maximum of $143,698 annually Candidates, either newly hired or new to the role, can typically expect a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications and internal equity.

  • Benefits:

    • 100% paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for individual employees. Additional premium costs are covered 60% by Leading Educators for partners and dependents on medical, dental, and vision plans.

    • 4% matching 401k plan, Flexible Spending Accounts for medical, childcare and commuter expenses, and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Benefits are valued at or above $9,000 for employees.

  • Time Off:

    • First three years of employment, full time staff accrue 22 days a year.

    • Five additional days are accrued after the third and sixth year of employment.

    • Leading Educators also offer 16 additional paid days off for various holidays, including three floating holidays staff may use at their discretion.
